imitrex injections

years ago i was given a script for imitrex but told by neuro that first shot should be done in hospital e.r or at md's office in case of possible side effects, some of which can be life threatening. my md was quite a ride and at the time i was only getting my ch's at night. not only that, i find it impossible to drive with a ch. can anyone give me more info on this? do i indeed have to give myself first injection with medical help at my fingertips? if so, this is nearly impossible. any help is appreciated.
