I have chronic daily clusters and frequent migraines. My employer asked me to go on medical leave 2.5 years ago because I couldn't function anymore, even with special work hours etc.
This month I'll be released from employment and am still fighting with Social Security for disability benefits. (They claim my headaches aren't frequent or severe enough - at least they have a good sense of humor!).
Main question: Is anyone else out there unemployed due to headaches? I get 2 to 4 #10 clusters a day during my "bad" months (late Nov thru March). Each lasts 1.5 to 2.5 hours.
After adding in the usual sleep loss, migraines, depression, drug side effects and FEAR of the next attack (lots of triggers), which I'm sure most or all of you share with me, I can't understand why unemployment isn't a fairly common issue among us.
Secondary question: Any suggestions / comments about Social Security and headache-based disability claims?
