Have come excruciatingly close to taking a medical leave this time around. In my field (stockbroker) that's the same thing as being unemployed. Clients forget pretty fast, just want someone there when they call. Fortunately this episode seems to be subsiding, will see how long of a break I get. Good luck with SSI, not much experience there, but this sure seems pretty disabling to me. Have been working about half as hard and half as long as usual. Guess I am lucky when you think about it, set my own hours within certain parameters.
