How about this one: Smoking causes temporary or permanent damage to oxygen senors in blood vessels causing vessels to dialate around trigeminal nerve causing pain. But why when smoking ceasses, even may years later, does damage remain to sensors?
Also, one thing that's always intriqued me: Why the hell is the trigeminal nerve system on one side of head affected and not the other side. In other words, why do clusters always seem to favor right side of head and not the other. Any left handed cluster sufferers out there with pain on left side exclusively?
