Good to know you're all here (Well, not really, it would be better if they found a way to get rid of these agonizing things!).
I been going through a set of Clusters for the last 6 weeks (Had them for 6 months five years ago). My neurologist has been giving me Neurontin and Migranal.
Tonight when my wife picked up my prescription the pharmacist asked how often I take the Migranal and she told her I've been told up to three times a day. I've been taking it for about 3 weeks now. The pharmacist said (loose quote)" He shouldn't be taking this for so long, why don't they give him Demerol or something to break the cycle?". Of course, I would have preferredd if the Pharmacist asked the doctor that instead of my wife, but I'm sure as you all know there's lot's of conflicting advice out there.
I wanted to run this by folks that have been through this. From my research, things like Demerol don't break any cycle, they are simply pain killers. I've had to go to Urgent Care in the past for Demerol shots when I just couldn't take it anymore. I didn't even know Demerol was available for home use by Prescription.
Your opinions would be appreciated. I see no sense in the Pharmacists comment, but if there is any chance, I'll take it up with my Doc.
