I cannot believe it. I have had the same family doctor for perhaps 15 years, and this week was the first time I ever called him on the phone. I called him twice: first, the day after an emergency room visit for clusters, asking for some abortive medication. He knew of none and suggested I research it and get back to him.
I did that today, and he informed me that these calls are taking up too much of his time (??!!) and he usually gets $200/hr for consultation!! I wanted to try the Lidocaine 4% nasal solution, and he said if I could find it somewhere, or find someone who would make it up for me, he would write a prescription for it!! How about that!
So here it is Friday, no abortive medication again for the weekend, and my doctor feels HE is put out. In my astute opinion, he isn't worth $1/hr comsultation, because he suffers from both a lack of medical knowledge, an inability to improve his knowledge, and any desire to honor his oath.
