My name is Mike Stuart. My wife, a nurse, found this board while desperately searching for some help with my CH's. When I first began reading the posts, there was a discussion of another "Mike". Since it is a common name, I decided to post using a synonym. What I have found here has been a revelation to me. I see myself in the anguish and the humor of other sufferers.
One of the many questions I have for you other CH'ers is about depression. I am a stable, 52-year old man with a good family and home. I am a chronic, yet my pain ranges up and down the scale. Just before going up the scale, I suffer from a depression so deep and dark that it is frightening. I have never been suicidal, but during these times I actually find myself thinking about "eating a 38", as I put it. Is this depression fairly common with others? If, so, is it periodic, or constant. Looking for answers...Mike
