I'm not a 'med free' kind of clusterhead, but I am into 'coping' techniques and trying to moderate the number of drugs I have to take. I've spoken here several times about my coping techniques, so I won't take up boardspace to repeat myself, but PLEASE! don't try the cold turkey routine.
I firmly believe that most of us can reduce our dependence on drugs by learning to better cope with the pain when it hits. BUT......
these techniques take time (often years) and work to learn.
No, I'm not talking about EST or naval gazing or sitting under pyramids or any of that other "New Age" stuff, so those of you who haven't seen the posts by myself, garyg, jack and others on this subject, please don't jump me.
Doug, some of the meds some of us are on, particularly the preventatives, can cause 'withdrawal' symptoms that are really nasty if you quit cold turkey.
We like you, dude. Don't do that again, k?
