Ok, don't laugh, this is serious. I believe there are at least four direct CH-Sex links. In reviewing the recent posts, I have seen reference to only one. The four are:
(Type 1) The Classic "not to night, dear" type. These are usually sex-avoidance excuses. Those types of HA's are best dealt with somewhere else.
(Type 2) The Sex-Trigger attack. Usually comes, pardon the pun, during or immediately after the CH attack. Destroies the afterglow effect. May also be related to exertion more than to sex itself. May also explain (part of) the two hour wake-up call for those lucky (er, unfortunate, er I'm confused here) enough to get it.
(Type 3) The Sex-Treatment. Sometimes used by nympho migraners to take their minds off their HA's. This may or may not be combined with Type 2 induced HA's as the theory that exertion may releive the pain.
(Type 4) The Sex-Stress Trigger. Usually caused by anxiety and frustration of wanting it and not getting it.
(Type 5) The Wellbutrin-Viagra Treatment. Ok, antidepressants are sometimes used, I'm told, to deal with CH --> pain --> depression. The stress and depression of CH sometimes leave something lacking in the blood vessel hydraulic system, which is treated with Viagra. The early research on this is still too limited to be conclusive, but I'm working on it.
I guess most of this fits into the behaviorial side of the CH model, except for all the chemistry associated with Sex itself. Any comments?
