My fiance' has had clusters since before we met. Thank god he found a doctor that prescribed imitrex injections. Recently we were trying to give SS all the information they need on how this affects his daily life. The paperwork was crazy, he couldn't begin to put on paper all the words to decribe the pain, that almost drove him to suicide. (and yes I have read up on this.. and it appears to be a common part of these hellish clusters). After filling out the papers best he could (his ex-wife who suffered through this with him before the medication was asked to fill out papers too) SS is putting him off still longer claiming that they need more information. Is this nuts or what? I am not a doctor, lawyer, nor genious, and especially not wealthy., but don't these people who work for the government have access to a computer, or even a library? I have found a wealth of information right here at my fingertips. My fiance' was even suprised to learn some things I pulled up. He fits right into the statistics, and was
eased a bit finding that beating your head against a wall, and suicide thoughts were not uncommon. So now with no medical coverage, and a life to try to live together somewhat happily, how do we get these people at SS to stop shuffling papers and become interested in doing their job? They need more information!!! I can't believe it. It makes me want to invite them all to my house to see "in person" just how real this is. I feel his pain, and it tears me apart to be put off any longer by these pencil pushing jerks. What do you have to do to collect...die?
