Thank you for putting that in a nut shell for me. "Reasons to delay", if I could think of that many excuses for something not getting done, I'd be able to blow off all my bills, and keep a job without ever having to show up. They have moved his case files from Prescott Az., to Phoenix, to San Fransico, back to Phoenix, and last week, back to San Fransico still asking for more information. It seems you can never talk to the same person twice, and no employee ever knows what another employee is doing. They claimed to have moved thier office about 2 months ago and his paperwork was seemingly "M.I.A.", then they needed 2 different personalized letters from Doctors with information dating back two years, X-rays,and MRI's,etc,etc... The humorus part to all of this is that he originally submitted all this information to them because of a back injury which occurred on the job back in 1995. He battled a court case against his employed for 2 years just to receive workman's comp. He finally had surgery last May in Las Vegas. He had 2 disks removed, and alot of hardware put in their place. It was agonizing for him. He is still recovering...and will never be the same, wether he'd had the surgery or not. He will have perfect posture forever, however. His attorney told him to go for SS again (he'd been turned down once before a while back). Now, still waiting for a decision, he deals with limitations from his injury, and clusters. It was someone at SS that told him that he should be able to qualify just from the headaches alone. This sounded promising...about a month ago, what can I say, the clock is still ticking. Also they seem to never call or contact you if there is a problem. He only found out they needed more information on clusters, and how they affect him, when he called them to say "what's the hold-up on the decision?" It makes me wonder if he'd already been turned down if he wasn't checking in, and chasing his case files around the country, on a weekly basis. Thank God we still have a phone.. but good luck getting all those 800 numbers to SS in 3 different cities. Since we live in AZ I want to know what San Fransico has to do with it, or are they just trying to lose him in the mail so he can start over. His medication cost floored me... 80 dollars for 2 injections?!!! Clusters do not seek out and strike only the rich. And I would sell my soul to keep him from going without his medication. How many years will it take for this to legally be called a dissability? Diagnosis, and treatment are hard enough to get. I pray somehow society will soon be more educated and familiar with this affliction, so future sufferers don't have to do all this leg work.
