I'm currently experiencing a long and severe cycle
of cluster headaches to the point it has control of
my whole life- the more I try to do something about
it (new doctors, drugs, acupuncture, etc) the deeper
I'm getting into a hole.
Today my psychiatrist informed me that all his patients
who suffer from acute headaches have one thing in common-
they were severely mistreated by their parents.
He suggested while the HAs are pathalogical- the root cause
may be supresseded rage.
Just as acute stress can bring about real high blood pressure,
real coronaries, subconscious memories producing hurt
and rage need to find an outlet as well and may manifest itself
by causing relaease of certain chemicals in hypothalmus
which cause the clusters.
In my case, the clusters serve several purposes:
Provide punishment for guilt felt about anger towards
deceased parents as well as provide an outlet for all
the rage I feel towards their mistreatment.
The only times I was shown care as a youngster was when
I was sick. As I feel in need of care, from whatever source,
medicine, acupuncture, doctors, etc., the painful cluster
allow me to deserve and warrant care.
Although this may be the root cause, it doesn't
necessarily cure the condition and medication is needed.
In my case he prescribed Melleril to calm the anxiety.
wILL KEEP MSGE BOARD POSTED AS TO PROGRESS.
I WOULD VERY MUCH BE INTERESTED IN KNOWING OF OTHER CHA
SUFFERERS WHO HAD SIMILAR EXPERIENCES.
Thank you,
