I need help from somebody who has also experienced
cluster headaches. My mom is so terrified by these
headaches; she's starting to talk of suicide to end
the pain! I read somebody's message who compared the
headache episodes to being a deer caught in the headlights
of a car... that's my mom!
The bad headaches started @ 8 years ago... she gets
them for about 4 months, @ 3-4 a day, some days more,
and has had a bunch of tests run. Initially, she was
told it was all in her mind and she was creating the
headaches herself; she had to de-stress. Finally about
2 years ago she was told she has cluster headaches.
Darvocet and Imitrex are just 2 of the drugs that I can
remember the names of that they have her taking. They
make her woozy and sick, and quite frankly, they are not
helping at all.
I don't have the faintest idea of how to help her.
She can't be touched or talked to; she rocks herself
and moans and holds her head as if she'd like to tear it
off. It's breaking my heart to see my mother hurt so
badly. Any information anyone can give me would be
greatly appreciated!!! Thank you for caring enough to
listen.
