First of all I'd just like to say I consider that I have found true solace here. I wish that I had found a place like this many years ago, but I am certainly grateful to have found it now.
I would love to hear the opinion of my fellow cluster headache sufferers regarding the following;
How much do you think your ability to cope with clusters would be affected (improved) if the disorder were better understood and/or acknowledged throughout society and the medical community?
What I mean by this is, if cluster headaches were as readily recognized as cancer, heart disease, arthritis, or any other malady with which most are familiar.
For myself, I would find much of the burden lifted simply if others truly understood and I didn't have to hide myself away or make lame excuses for why I've dissapeared for days. No more guilt, no more trying to explain in vain, no more trying to hide. That in itself would be worth more than any new medication that might come down the road. I'd love to hear just how important the issue of understanding is to everyone here.
