I am 21 years old and suffering from my 2nd cluster? in a year. This one is much worse than my first, though, and has lasted since April 11th. I feel like if it doesn't end soon - I don't know what to do. My doc isn't for sure that these are cluster headaches and while half the info I read sounds like I have them, half the time it doesn't. He's got me on elavil and indocin, neither of which are working. I go to the doc twice a week and he just keeps upping the dosages. I feel like screaming at him to just make me feel well!! I feel like it is killing off my brain cells and I am getting dumber by the day. I have a strong always present pain on the right side of my head, but then the stabbing comes - sometimes at my temples and sometimes at the base of my neck. It is always so strong it makes me catch my breath and almost knocks me over, but thankfully usually doesn't last for more than a couple minutes at a crack. Unfortunately, though, the stabbings will come 4 and 5 times in a row - sometimes more. I am just looking for answers. Right now I'm about at my wits end. If anyone could tell me if it sounds like I belong here, I would appreciate it. You are all in my prayers.
