I neglected to go into my treatment in my other lengthy
post. Running the gambit with doctors and specialists
seems to be another painful and frustrating part of
clusters. Lynn, as stated by the other nice people on
this message board, exhaust every other possibility.
Seeing a good neurologist is certainly the most important
thing you can do right now. My own personal family doctor
kept trying to treat my headaches with migraine
medication until I FORCED him to read everything he
could about cluster headaches. Fortunately, he's become
quite interested in treating them, and he's always
giving me advice by telling me about something he
read that worked for another patient somewhere in a
medical journal. He's also been quite liberal about
experimenting with different prescriptions. Unfortunately,
practically nothing works for me - but YOU may be
different. The trick is to find the treatment that
works best for you, and try to "head 'em off at the pass"!
An ounce of prevention is worth ten pounds of cure, and
if you can find something that stops the headaches
before they start - well, God bless you!! Many people
have, I'm just not one of them. God bless and take care!
Hope you find a solution to your problem and get this
meaningless suffering out of your life. Regards, Vince
