I love the poems and jokes. I need the medical and
pharmaceutical information. I thrive on the community
support. I sometimes would like to post things that
are kinda discouraging, and don't, just because I
don't want others to 'get more discouraged'. On the
other hand, we learn from the truth and shouldn't be
isolated from it..? I'll include an example here, and
I'd like to hear what others think:
Been chronic for 14 months. Diagnosed for 9. Verapamil
(480mg) and Lithium (900mg) worked pretty well until
about Christmas. The lithium gave me bad shakes and
a HORRIBLE loss of memory. Replaced the Lithium with
Depakote. Memory came back, but Depakote didn't work
and made me seasick at higher doses. Now I'm switching
from Verapamil to Inderal (beta blocker). On the 2nd
night after cutting Verapamil from 480 to 240, I had
the worst headache I've ever had. Lasted 6 hours and
I can now understand bashing my head against concrete.
Got to sleep after throwing up at 3am.
So... is there any value in such a depressing story,
or should we hide such poison so that our hope might
be maintained?
Thanks DJ. Second only to the pain is the lack of
understanding from our friends/family/coworkers, and
this site fills that painful void, while providing
_real_ good information.
Painfree to all,
