Has your husband tried Prednisone? If he is able to take this anti-inflamatory
steroid for a couple of weeks, it may break the cycle. The Prednisone should not be
taken for more than a month at a time, and then tapered off of slowly. It can effect
the immune system. Doctors are often reluctant to prescribe the steroid type medicines,
but they worked miricles for me. I took 20mg. three times a day to break a cycle.
Verapamil, a blood pressure medication has also broken a cycle for me in the past.
