I don't know if its scientificaly sound, but I don't think that lithium has an effect on the personality, unless the personality somehow needs what lithium has to offer. If I take an aspirin when I don't have a headache, I don't feel any effect. If I take one when I do have a headache (non-CH), I can feel the effect.
