ever notice Elizabeth in the summer when the sun is shining then all of the sudden raindrops are falling from seemingly nowhere?! Sometimes on those days when the sun's rays catches one of the raindrops it sparkles to such an intensity that is hard for the human eye to take and yet we find it beautiful! I think maybe your love for your dad is shining through and it is hard to look at it because of the intensity. Maybe it doesn't make any sense, but I can see the sparkle through the rain.
