I'm certainly no expert and haven't tried Verapamil. But you did reference logic, so here goes.

The difference, as I understand it, between SR and IR is merely a question of how quickly the tab dissolves and is absorbed into the system. IR happens quickly, SR, more sedately over a 24 hr or less period.

Since verap is one of the meds that you need to "build up" in your system, generally only kicking in after 5-7 days, I don't see any benefit in IR with respect to your question. Either version will build to the same level over the course of a week.

Short answer - stick with what works until it stops working and rely on an abortive (O2 or Imitrex) for the first week or so of your cycle.

If my logic is false, I'm sure either Ueli or Jack will correct me, so wait for the replies before making any decisions.

In other words, shut up, Don, at least for now.
