Live update for what? Norton? McAfee? MicroSoft? Is it your Live Update that's messing up or can it just not connect with the website, indicating a probable problem on their end, not yours.
What exactly is Connection Wizard doing or not doing?
Finally, did you set your TFH on top of the CPU? If so, it may be interferring with the gammagobulin rays beamed out from the planet Redmondia that your puter requires to stay healthy. First remove the TFH. If the puter isn't next to an exterior wall, move it so it is. Then cut a 32" x 56" hole through the wall to provide for unobstructed receipt of the rays. Depending upon where you live, this may cause some minor inconveniences with heating. You resolve these by locating the thermostat, turning it up to 90 and wearing longjohns while using the puter. Alternatively, save all the cds the AOHell sends out every week and build a fire next to the hole. (It's best to do this on the exterior side of the hole.)
