How do we assess if they are Serious. In the suicidal client's mind it is serious, but does that warrant immediate crises intervention? NO. Emergency action is deemed necesary when 1. You have suicidal idealogy (most of us have), 2. You are deemed to be a ligitimate threat to yourself. (we could be) 3. the most important. You have a well thought out plan, means or method, and time frame. (Most of us react on impulse)Emergency intervention is not deemed neccesary (meaning psychological crisis intervention)unless you meet all, not parts of, the criteria. The ones that we lose are ussually the quiet ones who do not make their intentions known. I think most clusterheads more than make their wishes known but do not ussually fit all of the criteria. I hope.
