As a former Medical student and current Biologist I must admit that Cluster headaches seem to defy the norm. After 25 years of suffering with these abominable bouts, I admit I still wake up each day thinking this must be a dream ( or nightmare). It's hard for me to believe that someone can suffer in such incredible pain and not be able to pass out or that the condition is not deadly. It boggles my mind. During a bout I think of people who suffered crucifixtion and think, at least after three days of horrible torture, they do not continue to suffer.
Lots of friends say, oh, that if my doctor could feel the intense pain, that he or she would understand. But I am not willing, yet, after all these years, to wish this even on my worst enemy.
I hope for the best research ever, and maybe if we ever find an answer, we may find an even deeper answer to the question of what makes humanity.
Sincerely,
Medlengough
