I have to disagree with you, Margi. Just knowing one is not grieving alone, eases the burden, somewhat.
I remember finding this website. It hasn't been too long ago. I thought for the first time, "At last, someone knows what I'm going through!" That knowledge in itself made all the difference in the world, in dealing with the malady that affects all of us here.
These attacks weren't necessarily aimed solely at the United States, but rather, what we represent; Freedom, Enterprise, Democracy, and a thousand other descriptive nouns. How many nations were represented by the WTC's list of tenants? Even the Chinese had offices in those buildings. No, this was an attack on everyone in the civilized (civilised) world. We were just the ones to bear the brunt of the attack. Like it or not, we're all in this together.
The outpouring of compassion we've witnessed in recent days by our neighbors everywhere, may be what it takes to give all the free world the resolve to fight this evil menace. Of course, I could be wrong, but I'll never admit as much.
