I can not begin to tell you how good it feels to have a Doc that cares about you...a few weeks ago, I posted asking you guys to give me some advice because my neuro was using me as a guinea pig and I did not trust him...he was starting me on a high dose of Topamax, a seizure drug...instead of starting me on a low dose and working me up...do I feel like the idiot I called him that nite...I have had some terrible side effects but I am getting over them slowly. He has had me stay off the board and out of chat for awhile and curtail other activities in my life to make me totally relax..My Doc has walked every step of the way with me these last few weeks...He has called me everyday. He even called one nite from his car phone he was so concerned about some of the side effects I was having.. He has gone the extra mile with me. This is one Doc that truly cares. I had several breakthrus because I would cut back my dose because of side effects...I felt I just needed a break from feeling like a zombie..but I would go back on my regular dose and I would not get hit..Today I woke up and I am starting to feel alittle more normal..I don't know why my body reacted this way to topamax but it was just very sensitive to the high doses my Doc said and this was the only way we could stop the chs dead in their tracks.....In the past I would get really fearful knowing I did not have a Doc who really understood chs and knowing I did not have one who knew how to medicate them properly...this seemed to make them even worse... So I feel I am truly blessed today to have the Doc I have.If you live in Columbia, SC you can email me so I can get you in touch with him...Praying you all find a Doc that will help you as much as mine is helping me. I told him I was bragging on him and his reply..."after I have made you suffer and even be suicidal, you still love me?" What a DOC! smiles,nancyc
