Lee had a meeting with his doc about the sleep study he had done a couple of months ago. He's being sent to a ENT specialist to determine what is causing his upper airway obstruction. His doc feels there is any correlation between sleep apnea and CH is indirect--sleep apnea doesn't trigger clusters, but being overtired from not getting enough sleep can be. Being treated for sleep apnea has not had a great impact on his CH patients. Anyway, the doc is going to be attending a seminar of sleep disorder specialists in the near future and said he will be looking for cluster headache info from other docs there. He said he has been seeing many more cluster patients than ever. Also talked to him about OUCH--he gave that the "thumbs up"--a pretty good response from a non-neurologist (he's a pulmonary specialist who runs the local sleep clinic). Another place to leave OUCH brochures, I guess :-)
