I have suffered through many migraine headache episodes. My headaches started after the delivery of my first child, while in the hospital. Migraines were predictable at least once each month and more if there was stress, changes in my waking hours, crying, and many foods were triggers (my diet became very limited). I could tell when one was coming because I became light and noise sensitive and I would see flashes of light; then the headache would start, always behind the right eye. The pain would build with intensity to the point where I had to put myself in a dark room, always lay on my left side and be very quiet and still…and wait it out (up to 24 hours). Many times I would vomit because of the excruciating pain. My life was HELL! It was not a life, it was existence between headaches. All this started when I was 25 and I am 45 now. I have lived with migraine headaches for 20 years but NO LONGER. I have never sought medical treatment or medications except for an MRI to make sure there was nothing else happening. I have always been of the opinion that any medications that would mask the headache would cause more degeneration of my body. Medications for me have never been a solution to consider.
I have now been migraine headache free for the past two years…free to do any activity I like without fear of the onset of an attack. I eat when I want, sleep when I want, cry if I want, even get stressed out if I want. My monthly cycle is regular and I have NO symptoms of any kind of headache. I am FREE. There is hope for all of us who suffer.
