I posted a message previously re: Alternative Therapies. I appreciate the feedback and have tried the suggestions as well as numerous others I have seen on this website (acupressure, hot cloths, deep breathing) The book "Alternative Medicine Definitive Guide to Headaches" by Dr. Robert Milne has other suggestions, some I'm skeptacle of. I have not used preventative medication for about 3 weeks(previously used Inderol and Amytriptiline) and though I have managed ok, I seem to be living in a shadow, with a headache usually lurking around. I think I am having success with weekly acupuncture treatments. I did try a homeopathic remedy which triggered a major headache and though one often gets worse, an indication that the remedy is working, I will not subject myself to that pain again. I have seen on this message board that many CH sufferers are seasonal. Could this be related to changes in barometric pressure? I have noticed that I often have a major Headache before and during a storm. A snowstorm through mid Canada Easter weekend resulted in 3 days of serious pain. Also, I have identified a few triggers, the worst being scents, such as Shampoos, scented candles, exhaust. Can Allergy testing be done to positively identify other triggers? I have taken a couple of months off work to deal with my aching head and though much better, I am concerned that when I go back to the busy and sometimes stressful realities in my life, that I will be back at square one which at best is to try another preventative medication and the worst being weekly trips to the ER for IV's of demerol and Imitrex. Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Irka
