I have been frequenting this site since my doctor told me that my doctor told me my doctor told me I probably have CHs. My grandfather also had this problem, and so does my neighbor. I am 19, and as near as I can tell have episodal CHs. I was getting them for four-and-a-half weeks, 3-4 times a day, and on the Kip Scale went up to 8-9 nearly every time for a week. Which I must say, was confusing as hell for someone not knowing what was going on, but I'm sure many of you went longer without ever hearing of them.
I could only write down every characteristic I could find, and it took a good 45 minutes to describe it to my doctor. (I could only think of it as the "screaming eels" from The Princess Bride with sharp fins cutting inside my brain every few seconds. You'll have to excuse my analogy, remember, I'm a child of the 80's.)
It's been about 6 weeks since then, and I've had "shadows" occasionally, usually every couple of days, but not getting above 3 or 4 Kip..
I know that there are more than a few of you are prejudiced against people not having an official condition, or one fewer than a few years old, but after a couple of cat-scans and about to go into drug-testing, we're all pretty sure. For those of you who still don't care, I'm sorry for wasting your time.
To get on to my question, how long does the first remission last? and Do remission lengths change over time?
