Hi Bob,
Just found your web site, your questions are many and very well thought out. I have suffered from migraines for over 30 yrs. I ahve used every new product they have come out with.
About 8 years ago after recieving Stadol injections with phenagren 4-6 times a mo from my doctor I asked why they don't have this in a spray like Imitrex. The doc said they had Stadol NS and wrote the script.
The first time I used it the taste down my throat was so bad I thought I would die, but I received so much relief I just ate a popcicle.
I have never felt high or even sleepy, I have always been able to function my headache went down from a 10 + to a 4. In my book that is great relief.
Last year i had a bad slip & fall. I injured both my knees, blew 2 discs in my back, pinched a nerve in my elbow jammed my shoulder and fractured my skull. Since i am allergic to so many medicines I have been given Stadol IM. I inject myself every 4 hours. Again I do not get high nor do I feel as if i'm uforic.
I believe that if you are truely in pain no pain medicine will make you feel high.
I have read some of the letters out there that you have received. I think maybe Stadol NS is too strong for some of the people taking it. If you try it and get an uncomfortable feeling maybe you should try something like Imitrex.
I have been using several preventitive meds and think they are helping. I take Corgaard, Monopril, HCTZ, Elavil, Keppra, & Neurontin. My docs have slowly increased the dose until the headaches have been less in severity.
I hope some of this information has been helpful. Good Luck in your quest to become at least in less pain.
Sincerely,
Cheryle
P.S. I have never had any problem with Insurance for either form. I believe in my area the cost is anywhere from $73.00 to $116.00 per bottle without insurance.
