Hi,

Just to let anyone interested know, I have not had a CH in some time and I feel confident that one will not manifest itself. The meditation works and I am not exactly sure as to why; some of the ideas I have are:

1) I placed my awareness on the pain, the area of the pain and explored it to find the source. I never pinpointed a source exactly but I did get a general idea of the area, extent, and behavior of the pain. When I had a shadow, I placed my awareness on that same general area and explored it and felt what was there.

2) The sitting position of Zen meditation (zazen) allows my body to completely relax while it allows my mind to be really alert. As I meditate, my body reaches a state of deep relaxation while it allows my mind remains alert, this position combined with the practice of being aware allows me to be aware of my mind, body, and emotions without reacting to them.

3) I am no longer battling or attempting to escape CH's but rather being attentive to them.
