I just completed a 2 month bad cycle. I used Sansert, Verapamil, Periactin and Vicodin. Sansert can be used for up to 6 months and then you must take a break. Beyond that it can affect the heart with long term use I understand, but my neuro said if you have no history of heart problems you should be fine with short term use. It is an old treatment as I understand it for CH. I found it to be less of a problem than prednisone, which I personally hate. Steroid shots did very little for me except maybe for a couple of days and the things were back with a vengence.
This last round of treatment seemed ok for me. Periactin was used at night only and it made me hungry. I dropped off of it after awhile.
Caffeine with aspirin taken sublingual helps me get rid of a bad hangover after a bout of them during the night. I figure after a couple of hours in misery, I'm already up when they subside so I might as well drink coffee and they get me out of the residual hangover. Works for me at least. Hope you find the relief...
