I have been on duragesic patch for years and yesterday just raise the dose...and I don't have any effects OTHER THEN PAIN RELIEF!!! that is the bottom line... I am fully functional with them..without I might as well be a quadraplegic..as I can't even sit, stand, walk all i can do is lay... My medicine is not a cure all to the situations that I have..(more than just the ch) But is helps me to function and that is what the important issue is... yes they can make you sleepy but that goes away over time and if you are taking them on a regular basis..that doesn't mean that you can't function, drive a car, cook, take care of kids etc... As I said the only way I could do it is to take the narcotics that I am on... So I don't agree at all with the doc or hubby on that... and Neither would my doctor..
With me you can't tell that I have taken anything.. I don't stumble around like a drugged out druggie...all it does is cut the pain to a tolerable level so that I can function and their is no other side effects from them...
I think you need to get a damn good attorney and also a doctor that knows about narcotics/pain control etc..
