I too am a female "workaholic". I am an educational administrator, and just as I became ready and qualified for the position I have worked to get to for so long, I get CH! It is very frustrating! My husband and I too have carefully laid out plans for our future-kid's
s education, retirement, etc. Although I have not had mine as long as you (only 10 weeks), I too was feeling very helpless as I imagine all our dreams "going down the drain". My husband understood what I was feeling so he suggested we sit down and map out "plan B". We took a week off of work and went out of town on a much needed break. Our lifestyle may not be quite what we had originally planned, but we will be o.k.
Guess what? You will be o.k. too. The pressures of work and kids (especially teenagers!) are tremendous. Know that you can not do it ALL! Seek help. I suggest the following:
a)Look around until you find a doctor that will help even if it means going out of state.
b) If you don't already have someone to help you clean/cook, etc, get someone.
c)Take a break from work- you may want to look somewhere else where your talents and commitment will be appreciated.
d) Get with your husband and work out a "Plan B" or several plans - don't disregard the idea of disability.
e) Take a good look at those beautiful teenagers of yours and imagine what life for them would be without you. They may be self-centered at this age
but they absolutely need you whether they realize it or not!
Remember that there are many options in life and that we are here for you. Talk to us. I will keep you in my prayers
