You are taking 240 mg per day at the moment - that's a fairly low dose and you may need to go higher than this in the end. Many do need more than this before getting relief - 480mg, 600, 700 or even more I have come across. Also, our neurologist said don't take the timed release verapamil as it isn't as effective as the full release version for some reason. Also, some people have written to the board to say that they have found relief with a combination of verapamil and lithium (and other drugs) when neither drug was successful on its own. So don't panic yet - and there are other drugs to try as well. It often takes some time to find the best drug and the best dose to suit. Please let us know how you get on.
