I started with verapamil for the first time this episode, (after 26yrs) The drug has worked great for me. I started on 240SR 1xd and upped it to 2xd for complete relief. When I thought I was out of the episode I dropped back to 240 and then stopped altogether. After a couple of days I was getting some pressure so I went back on 240 a day. My Doc says it is not a problem to continue to take, if there are no adverse effects initially with the drug. I have not had any problems with verap at all. My advise, if you are completely HA free, just start dropping the dosage and see how you do. If you start to feel the HA, check with your Doc and go back to the dose that works.
