...as you have your reasons. The fact that you have thought about it is to me very important, and I would not dream of pressing you if you have personal experiences which discourage you fomr doing so, but I would always encourage you to join and put your powers of reason (and your pocket!) where your mouth is.
We have to remember, though, that the information you refer to is only there because some people have seen fit to put their time and energy into providing it. The framework provided by a formal grouping though can give much more direction than the message board here (which is really what we mean by "the site" in those terms).
I know very well that when I have talked to people here, being able to put the name of an organisation on the paper, rather than just saying " a group of people at ch.com" has made a difference.
I have never belonged to an organisation before, and I too had my doubts about OUCH a long while back. I think, however, it has now become in a very short time a set up which is surprisingly mature considering its youth. I certainly would not be involved if I felt it had nothing to offer, or was set up wrongly.
Now it needs the focus and muscle that numbers would provide. We on the board and as officers should be keeping everyone fully informed of what is going on behind the scenes, to encourage people to be confident in us, and you (plural - not you Steve!) need to be telling us what you think.
So you know, we do regularly communicate with ideas (just today discussions got under way about meetings for next year, local groupings, easier ways to join and so on).
Activity needs momentum, and if my physics is remembered correctly, that is a function of mass.
My thoughts for the evening...
