hi. i just found this sight today, and i entered my survey answers, and i found out i was not alone! wow! my cluster headaches started when i was 10 yrs old. i am now 30. these are the symptoms of my headaches:
on a good day: the flashing, zig-zag lights that grows until it is in the outer skirts of my vision, and blind spot, followed by excruciating pain...lasting anywhere from 40 minutes to 2 hours.
on a bad day: starts out as above, followed by numbness of gums, lips, face, throat, hand and arm. speach impairment, and then sometimes all of the above repeated over and over...and then (what i call an "after headache") where it is all over but if i cough, sneeze, move suddenly, bend over, i have a streak of pain on my head and temple, and the next day, i am sluggish and extremely tired.
when i first started having these, my parents didn't know what was going on, took me to every specialist possible (no medication or perscribed med. ever worked for me)...then they tried the feverfew, relaxation techniques, diets, exercise, even home remedies..anyone ever have their parents (while you are having a headache) put your feet from cold to hot water?? lol. when my father got frustrated (cause he couldn't help me) he told me back in my teen yrs, "it is all in your head! if you concentrate, it will go away!" lol. (bless his heart) i knew it was all in my head, but i wished it were that easy. anyways, i am sorry i am not alone in this, (that others suffer as well) but i am also glad, i am not alone (that my symptoms are real, not crazy)~~
