Dr's are becoming more and more leary of "drug chasers" and we all suffer because of it. Try telling your Doc what you have and some of the preventative med's you'd like to try. If you can convince your Doc that your not trying to screw him/her out of a script for narcs, speed, hypnotics, sleeping pills, etc to get a buzz on you have a much better chance of forming a working relationship. Out of all the postings on this board from dedicated clusterheads there's little talk of pain killers, just a little talk of sleep aids, etc. We're mostly into headache abortives rather than "pain" abortives which have some recreational uses. I haven't noticed any recreational (fun) factor in my meds. Try to talk to your Doc more than just saying "Bad headaches, can't sleep, need sleeping pills". It's probably the 22nd time they've heard "Need ..." this week.
They're not all bad, they just get paid more.
Good Luck,
Tom
