Back in 1994 i was diagnosed with trigeminal neuralgia.Its almost as painful as CH.I dont know witch pain is worse! Ive had CH since 1988. In 94 when i was diagnosed by my neuro as having TN(trigemnal neuralgia) he gave me tegritol(carbamazepine)Witch is a anti-seizure drug.It worked for the TN and i havent had a CH since then until a month ago.Yes they came back and in full force. Sept. 3 2000 i wont forget that date ever.They were as painful as before.6 years remission i almost forgot all about them, i prayed that i would never get another CH.i guess the big guy upstairs wasnt done with me yet.WHY ME? WHY US? WHY ANYBODY? I dont wish this pain on my worst enemy! Anyways, has anybody out there tried tegritol for CH? I dont know why they went away for 6 years. Ive had shadows since then i guess that was just a reminder that i am just one of the special people just like all of you! my neuro said its worth a try.I dont remember about any side effects of tegritol. Cant be any worse than prednisone, can it?which i am on now. I took my last dose today. No HA since friday night. What a releif.But they will come back (i hope not) Prednisone is a last resort for me.Ill try any thing to ease my pain, maybe a trip couldnt hurt!!! By the way, this site is the greatest thing ive found in a long time!!! THANKS DJ MY PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU!! Painfree for now. ANDY
