Hey Barbara - I am sure that there is a wide range of intensity within this world of clusters - I am sure that there are folks with much more pain than mine - particularly the chronics.
I also said nothing about nationality and pain tolerance. I did say that the fellow from Australia posted a rational and thoughtful message that I agreed with.
There is no way to gauge another's pain. I can only deal with mine in the best way that I can.
If you want to turn this into a gender thing, I think we males have a much lower tolerance for some types of pain than females.
I am not nearly as stoical as I used to be. The first 13 or 14 years of my clusters I did not seek treatment and always gutted them out - I was pretty stupid. I finally sought treatment because of the workplace - I gradually got more responsible jobs that would not allow me to go away and hide through a 3 hour attack.
One way of coping is as good as another. I am just sharing my way.
