Serotonin is a key ingredient in mood and sleep regulation as well as vascular stuff.

During REM sleep serotonin falls to almost zero.

During a cluster attack serotonin rises dramatically.

Who knows what this means but could it mean that a cluster attack may be brought on by the bodies natural need to bring serotonin back up after REM sleep and because we are clusterheads we can't handle this serotonin spike.

PS - REM sleep occurs throughout the night
