Yes, I rarely even discuss headaches with doesn't have them. I think the problem is that everyone has had normal little non-cluster headaches, so they assume we are having the same thing or maybe a little stronger. Plus there are some people who pretend like they have headaches; "not tonight, I have a headache" is a well known joke.
It reminds me of a true story about a guy who wasn't getting any cooperating from his university in working around his cluster headaches. Finally the doctor wrote a note that he suffered from "chronic cephalalgia" (which is just the greek word for headache). All of a sudden they starting bending over backwards for him!
