Let's call it an Island. :-)
Agreed. I'm well aware of the different cultures, societies, religions, etc., over there on the BIG Island, where you live. Thanks for not being offended.
I also agree that money makes the world go 'round. As well as a bunch of nifty Physics things, like Gravity, Astronomy, Centrifugal Forces, etc. :-)
Dr. Peter Goadsby is originally from Australia. Also an Island. Many different cultures, societies, religions, etc., there on the Island known as Australia.
I'm from America. Also a BIG Island. Many cultures, societies, religions, etc., here in America. My maternal Grandmother was from England. My maternal Grandmother was from Italy. Italy looks like a really BIG shoe.
So what's my point?
I have a great deal of respect and admiration for all human beings, no matter what their culture, religion, or what society they come from.
Who cares what Island they live on? Who cares if they live on a Country that looks like a really BIG shoe?
Who cares if Glaxo Wellcome makes a profit? Well - I do. Glaxo Wellcome makes a profit, and then gives a portion of that money to Dr. Peter Goadsby. Dr. Goadsby then takes that money and finds a cure for Cluster Headaches.
When Cluster Headaches is cured there is no more pain.
And when there is no more pain? Well then - we don't have to give Glaxo Wellcome anymore money.
Actually - we don't have to give O.U.C.H. a $25 Membership fee either.
See my point?
Man is an Island. We need to group together. Just like you said in your original post. We need to stand together as ONE, and work as a team. We need to NOT be an Island.
Your friend,
Dave
