I've never been able to tie the onset of my clusters to anything. I've had 25 bouts in the last 30 years. When a cluster does start, alcohol, any amount, meant an immediate headache. In fact I used to use beer to determine if the cluster was over. I'd start feeling good, have a beer, no headache the cluster was over. I also agree with the sunlight thing too. Direct sunlight on the headache side of my head will start a headache when I'm in a cluster.
