Apart from the fact that we have no ice picks in this country... at all...
During a cluster attack I often get short icepick jabs through my temple, the way you describe. I also get the knife-in-eye pain, that is also called icepick pain (I think) and a skewer through my temple that stays in.
My very first attack was with jabs through the temple. Yet for the rest it conducts itself als Cluster headache and reacts favorably on Verapamil and oxygen...
