I can only speak for myself but the past is history. Learn from it and move on, there are lessons to be learned in life and mistakes will be made. The important thing is not to repeat ones mistakes for that shows a lack of attention. Just be polite and be very careful with attempts at humor,mine have blown up on me before too.
Also don't forget that e-mail addresses are displayed in posts, sometimes that is a better way to communicate with someone, feel free to e-mail me anytime you need to talk.
