I am 34 and have had them since I was 18. Yes, my father had clusters (and migraines) - past away when I was 7. I do not believe for 1 minute that men's Cluster pain is more intense than a woman's. I would rather be dead!!! I am a very level headed professional who cannot believe this happened to me, but guess what. I have recently found the Diamond Headache Clinic in Chicago (www.diamondheadache.com) and I tell everyone about this place. Dr. George Urban studies only Clusters. They treated me, sympathized and understood my pain completely. Insurances DO pay for this, and it is outpatient or inpatient. I am not rich, they are not terribly expensive and I HIGHLY recommend them to any Cluster sufferer. Good Luck.
