Dr. Diamond wrote a book on CH back in the late 60's. It is out of print now but worth anything you might have to pay for a copy. I bought many and gave them away and now have none.
Dr. Diamond had a 'headache' clinic in Chicago thru the '70's at laast and not sure if he is even still with us.
he was the kindest most understanding doctor for CH patients I even met or even heard of. He devoted his life to us and did it for almost nothing.
Dr Diamond trained many other doctors in his clinic and surely one of them will see this post. If he is alive, my best goes out to him, if not, my heart hurts but is thankful for such a giving caring man.
He never found a cure and didn't have all the drugs we do today but, he was willing to try most anything it seemed.
I went thru his 'histamine desensitive' program twice. It didn't really help but it was the best we could do in the early '70's. I lived in Okla at the time and had to fly to Chicago to see him. He always made time for me and anyone else that suffered with CH. I then moved to Ca and couldn't afford to fly to Chicago every time an episode started, and lost track of him.
I recommmed anyone that lives close to Chicago to try to locate the Diamon Headache Clinic. If it still exists, you would be well advised to seek an appointment and they make special arrangements if you say you have CH. Office visits used to cost $20!!!! But when you got there you'd find maybe 50 other people in the waiting room. And you always got all the time with the doctor you wanted and for that reason, he was always running way late with appointments. But, it was well worth it. That was where I was first told I had CH and I broke down and cried on his shoulder when he told me I would not leave his office with pain and I never did.
Would love to know what ever happened to him and if anyone else ever had the chance to see him?
